My interest in yoga began over 25 years ago. At that time, my life was a mess. I wandered into a yoga class at a local yoga studio and, after taking a few classes, I noticed that something changed in me. I was happier. I was surprised to find that, despite my circumstances, I felt lighter and joyful.
I knew something other than stretching and exercise was happening in that yoga class. That feeling led me to ask my local gym where I was employed if I could start teaching yoga. I wanted others to feel this magic of transformation.
And that’s how my yoga teaching career began. Shortly after that, I took my first 500 hour Yoga Teacher training with Alan Finger of Ishta Yoga.
My yoga classes incorporate challenging vinyasa flow with an emphasis on proper alignment. My passion for yogic philosophy is the hallmark of my teaching style.
We are all on the path of life with its many ups and downs; I work to inspire and uplift the lives of my students. My students come for the yogic reflections, chanting mantra and meditation as much as for the physicality of the practice.
Before I taught yoga, I was a fitness instructor and personal trainer for over 20 years. I loved to motivate my clients to change their bodies and change their lives. As my own life became more challenging, my interest in the mystical and the Divine deepened. My many teachers and Mentors include Alan Finger, Erich Schiffman, Seane Corn, Max Strom, Saul-David-Ray, Sharon Gannon and David Life.
My life has been profoundly influenced by my encounter with my Guru and spiritual guide, Manorama (also known as GuruMa), with whom I have been studying “The Path of the Luminous Shabda.” This includes the language of Sanskrit, Mantra, meditation and yoga philosophy.
As a result, my classes and teaching have become more alive and devotional.
